The Audio Technica AT-VM670xSP is a dedicated mono cartridge designed specifically for 78 RPM records, giving you the correct stylus size and internal wiring to get the best from this older format. The 3.0 mil conical stylus is perfectly suited to the wider grooves of 78s, helping minimise distortion and tracking issues, while the dual magnets are internally bridged to produce a clean and centred mono signal with reduced surface noise.

Compared to the VM610MONO, which is tuned for mono LPs played at 33 RPM, the VM670xSP is more specialised. It's the better fit if you're working with shellac records or earlier mono pressings that require a larger stylus profile.
