If you're looking for an AV controller to be the base station of your living space or dedicated media room, the AVR-X3100W pulls no punches.

Denon have upped the amplifier stakes adding plenty of muscle with 180 watts per channel - enough to drive high-quality loudspeakers with impeccable control and detail. In movie mode, the AVR-X3100W delivers speech effortlessly with richness and crystal-clear definition. A fine balance is struck moving from subtle to fast-paced without missing a beat. You can use these channels as you wish - keep a standard 5.1 for the main viewing area and assign two channels for audio in a different room.

An advanced video processor, more powerful than lower-spec Denon models is included on the AVR-X3100W which is equipped to handle future 4K Ultra HD content (at 60 Hz) as well as 4:4:4 Pure Colour sub-sampling pass-through, all features of HDMI v2.0 specification. Eight HDMI v2.0 inputs is enough for even the most fanatical of AV fans, with one included on the front panel for easy or regular use. Twin HDMI outputs lets you run two displays simultaneously so for the ultimate home cinema experience you can run a projector and still switch to TV use for everyday programme schedules. Older devices and even displays are accommodated too with component video and analogue inputs and outputs included.

Given AV amplifiers are energy-hungry components by nature, Denon have further tweaked their Eco mode which adjusts the power supply according to the volume level you're playing at. Overall power consumption is dramatically reduced at lower levels and the AVR-X3100W even includes an on-screen Eco-meter to see these changes in real-time.

The Denon AVR-X3100W gets even better for fans of music streaming too. With integrated Airplay and Bluetooth® technologies, you can easily pair up a huge amount of different devices to play music through your system without physical connections. Denon have even taken on board the hassle of wiring the amplifier up to the internet with this version coming complete with Wifi built-in allowing another dimension of control and networking. Once the AVR-X3100W is online, you can turn it on or off, switch inputs, toggle listening modes and turn the volume up and down by using the native Denon app which is a free download for nearly all smart devices. Furthermore, music streaming apps such as Spotify, internet radio stations or even a PC on the same network via DLNA can be accessed, played and enjoyed.

Set up is easy, the AVR-X3100W comes with a microphone included and the industry-favoured Audyssey MultEQ technology to calibrate the speaker levels according to your room dimensions. You can fine-tune these levels further but Audyssey does a brilliant job of getting you up and running straight away.
