Emotiva BasX A2m Stereo Flex Amplifier Overview

The Emotiva BasX A2m Stereo Flex Amplifier is perfect for situations where space is limited or multiple two-channel amplifiers will be used to power multiple zones or sets of height and surround speakers. 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 90 watts per channel into 4 ohms have a rated THD+N of less than 0.1% and an S/N ratio of 112dB. A switch on the rear panel allows you to utilise the A2m as a power amplifier with fixed gain or as an integrated amplifier with front-mounted volume control. A Headphone output enables amplification for the most demanding of headphones including Planar headphones. Sound will be smooth, natural and detailed with any audio system for any type of music.

Flexible connections

The BasX amplifier series is designed to be versatile and work in just about any system. To that end, Emotiva uses unbalanced inputs via industry-standard RCA connectors and accepts all standard unbalanced interconnects. Five-way speaker binding posts allow you to use a wide range of cable types with various terminations including bare wires, lugs, or banana plugs. A remote trigger input and output allow you to control your system with trigger-enables equipment.

Class A/B amplifier stage

A lot of power amps on the market opt for digital amplification stages. Emotiva does it differently. An analogue Class A/B amplification stage retains your favourite music's emotion and warmth. Short signal paths and a high current ensure a sound that is optimised, smooth and stable with minimal distortion.

Premium construction

Trouble-free service is assured through the use of top quality parts and components. The steel chassis offers durable longevity and rugged good looks that will blend into any set-up. Double-sided FR4 circuit boards, with plated-through holes, help optimise signal paths and minimize the need for point-to-point wiring. A heavy-duty linear power supply with an oversized toroidal power transformer offers to drive for the most demanding speakers.
