You may have heard of flat speakers, but have you listened to them? None has the detailed full-range performance or the design heritage of a Monitor Audio SoundFrame speaker. To create the phenomenal SoundFrame range engineers found a way to build Monitor Audio's famously natural sound quality into an ultra-slender cabinet just 87mm (3.5") deep.

The cabinet is easy to fit in the wall,  the design idea is perfect to compliment todays super slim TV wall mounts.The connecting cable runs in the wall cavity, enters from the back and is connected to the front for a seamless wire-free look and unique installation convenience.

Match the cabinet with room décor from a choice of exquisite high gloss white or black piano lacquered frames, or by applying your own colour to a white primed frame.

The SoundFrame SF1-In-Wall can also be used in portrait or landscape positions to flank larger displays. Gold Dome C-CAM

The gold dome tweeter is crafted from a ceramic-coated aluminium/magnesium alloy and gold anodised for optimal stiffness and damping. Advanced modelling tools helped design its profile and surround geometry to ensure accurate sound reproduction. Its breakup point exceeds 35kHz, ensuring a linear response beyond human hearing—ideal for high-definition music and cinema formats. This dome is thinner, lighter, and more rigid than typical designs, delivering improved efficiency and reduced distortion. These qualities make it particularly effective at preserving clarity and detail across a wide frequency range, which is essential for premium audio systems demanding high performance and fidelity.

IDC

Monitor Audio’s in-ceiling and in-wall LCR speakers use a pivoting Inverted Dual Concentric (IDC) module for adjustable sound direction. The module can be angled up to 18 degrees, allowing for precise acoustic targeting even when the speaker is discreetly installed. This innovation converts the speaker into a true 3-way design, outperforming fixed-angle or 2-way systems. Inside, the 4" midrange cone and tweeter sit far forward, reducing diffraction and offering improved dispersion. Traditional two-way setups typically position drivers deeper behind the grille, which increases distortion. With IDC, users enjoy accurate, flexible sound delivery from subtle architectural speaker placements.

RST

Rigid Surface Technology (RST) strengthens speaker cones by applying geometric patterns inspired by Origami. Using Finite Element Analysis, Monitor Audio developed radial ribs for the GX cones and dimpled patterns for RX models. These precisely formed surfaces increase rigidity, helping cones resist bending forces that can cause distortion in traditional drivers. As a result, thinner and lighter C-CAM cones can be used without sacrificing strength, improving speed and accuracy. RST also reduces standing waves on the cone’s surface, enhancing sonic clarity. This combination of rigidity and responsiveness enables RST-equipped drivers to produce cleaner, more dynamic sound reproduction.
