The C3L-CP sits in Monitor Audio’s Tier 3 large in-ceiling range, alongside the C3L and C3L-A. Compared with the standard C3L, it adds a sealed Controlled Performance enclosure, helping the speaker deliver more repeatable results across different ceiling spaces. Quik-Link makes cable connection faster and tidier, while Tri-Grip II secures the speaker firmly into the ceiling for a clean finish. Its 248mm cut-out matches the other large models, but the deeper 177.5mm mounting depth should be checked before fitting, giving installers clearer planning before work begins on site.
Controlled Performance
The CP design includes a rigid sealed back box behind the speaker, giving the C3L-CP a controlled air space around its driver array. This helps performance stay more consistent across different ceiling constructions, rather than depending heavily on the space above the speaker. It also reduces sound from the rear of the cabinet by around 30dB, helping limit transfer into rooms above.
