iFi ZEN Air DAC 2 USB DAC & Headphone Amp Overview
The iFi ZEN Air DAC 2 is designed for desktop listeners who want a clear step up from a computer, console, tablet, or phone output. It works as both a USB DAC and headphone amplifier, using a newly selected Cirrus Logic DAC to deliver cleaner detail, stronger dynamics, and a more involving sound without making setup complicated.
This second-generation model adds a 4.4mm balanced headphone output alongside a 6.3mm single-ended output, giving compatible headphones more space, separation, and drive. With up to 484mW from the balanced output, PCM playback up to 384kHz, DSD256 support, and 118dBA dynamic range, it has the technical ability to support more serious listening. XBass+ adds low-end weight when needed, while PowerMatch adjusts gain for harder-to-drive headphones. A new power button and metal fascia also make it easier to use every day on a desk or hi-fi rack.
