Tribute
Ken Ishiwata was a true pioneer in his field offering superlative performance upgrades to affordable pieces of HiFi equipment. Improvements to the A11 and CD11 were some of his last pieces of work, later finished by Rotel with approval from the Ishiwata family. Ishiwata meticulously investigated the A11 and upgraded the transformers, capacitors and resistors and also redesigned the signal path for uncompromising natural audio with coherence and complete musicality that is sure to enhance your audio no matter the source.
Powerful Amplifier
The Class AB amplifier provides solid audio signals with 2 x 50W of power output. The 8 ohms impedance will also enhance the sound even more. The A11 offers two speaker outputs so you can directly connect to your speakers and enjoy your favourite music. The 12V trigger output will let you use a projector and enjoy an engrossing viewing experience.
Great Input Options
The Rotel A11 Tribute amplifier is equipped with multiple RCA inputs so you can directly connect to your CD player, Tuner and mobile devices. The MM phono input enables a seamless turntable connection and lets you listen to all your favourite vinyl records. The line level inputs even have a frequency response of 10Hz - 100kHz and the phono input offers a 20Hz - 20kHz range. Rotel CD11 CD Player Tribute Edition
Ken Ishiwata's final project
The CD11 is the result of a collaboration between Rotel and audio legend Ken Ishiwata. Ishiwata used to work with Marantz for decades as an engineer. After parting ways with Marantz, Ishiwata worked alongside Rotel to design some HiFi components. The CD11 being one of the last ones before he passed away. This shows a lot of his design philosophies with the component changes as well as the idea that a CD player should just play CDs.
Tweaked Components for the Best Performance
The digital to analogue conversion is done using a Texas Instruments 24-bit 192kHz DAC. This is the same company that produces Burr Brown DACs so you can be assured that this is of exquisite quality. Eight capacitors and one resistor in this DAC have been upgraded to provide the best quality. As have all nine of the capacitors in the PSU for extra performance. Additionally, the electrical ground paths have had their routings altered.
Versatile Connectivity
With RCA analogue outputs you can send the signal from this CD player to an amplifier of your choice and distribute the signal throughout your system. A digital coaxial out also enables you to send the audio signal to an external DAC if you have a dedicated unit in your setup. The 12v Trigger and RS232 plugs on the CD11 also enable you to access some remote control functionalities so you can have your whole system's control centralised.
