Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 Premounted MM Cartridge Overview
The Ortofon 2M Black LVB 250 Premounted MM Cartridge marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven by expanding on the musical capabilities of the flagship 2M Black model. Prioritising ease of installation, this version of the high-performance cartridge also comes pre-attached to the Ortofon SH-4 Headshell. This features an SME connector compatible with a wide range of modern tonearms and turntables.
The build of the 2M Black LVB 250 features a meticulously engineered, highly polished nude Shibata diamond stylus tip. This has been mounted to a Boron cantilever which relates seamlessly to the split pole magnets and silver-plated copper wire engine. The slim profile of the stylus allows a much wider contact area with the groove wall, resulting in greater responsiveness and tracking accuracy than any lower entry in the 2M Series.
In order to achieve its full performance potential, the 2M Black LVB 250 Cartridge uses a new rubber compound Nano Tube suspension system. This provides the optimal balance between compliance and dampening, thus maintaining the overall signal integrity. The moving magnet design enables the engine to amplify the output to 5.5 mV, ensuring accurate sound reproduction of the highest quality and remarkable sonic accuracy.
