Full Description
View Full DescriptionR2R DAC Sound Character
At the heart of the DM15 sits a fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor array DAC, created to capture the warmth and texture many people associate with classic CD playback. Rather than chasing extreme sharpness, it prioritises natural tone and smooth transitions, so vocals, guitars, and acoustic instruments sound convincing and human. This tuning reduces listening fatigue and makes longer sessions more comfortable with well loved albums. It also gives CDs a purposeful character that feels musical rather than clinical, encouraging you to rediscover physical music collections at home.
CD Mechanism And Controls
The DM15 uses a custom CD mechanism refined for reliable everyday playback at home. A self rebounding steel ball alignment system helps discs load smoothly, lowering the risk of marks during insertion or removal. This is useful if you change albums often or move the player between rooms. Mechanical buttons, keys, and knobs provide clear tactile feedback, so controls are easy to locate by touch. Together, the stable transport and physical controls make CD listening feel deliberate, secure, and engaging, rather than fiddly or fragile during relaxed listening sessions.
Connectivity And Everyday Versatility
Beyond CDs, the DM15 works as a flexible digital hub for modern systems. You can use it as a hi-fi grade USB DAC with computers, supporting high resolution PCM and DSD files for cleaner detail and improved clarity. Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive allows wireless listening from CD or USB sources while maintaining stable connections. This versatility helps the player fit easily into different setups, whether you use wired headphones, active speakers, or Bluetooth equipment, making it suitable for desks, bedside systems, and compact living spaces at home.
