There is also a plethora of connections and features.<\/p>\n<p>Its streaming features include all the big hitters like TIDAL, Spotify, and TuneIn; plus, its ability to play hi-res audio is a nice touch, as not all do.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the connections, at the rear, you get both digital and optical inputs, plus an FM aerial input. On the front, you get a 3.5mm headphone jack, a neatly designed display just below the CD drawer, and two buttons on either side, plus a USB input.<\/p>\n<p>The main controls are located on the top, which keeps the front of the Denon so clean-looking. These are touch-sensitive and give you all the simple requirements needed to operate the Denon CEOL, while the remote control gives you even more.<\/p>\n<p>Plugging a pair of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.av.com\/Speakers\/Q-Acoustics-Q-5020-Bookshelf-Speakers-Satin-Black-Pair\/5K9W\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q Acoustics Q 5020 bookshelf speakers<\/a><\/strong> from our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.av.com\/Hi-Fi\/Denon-CEOL-RCD-N10-Hi-Fi-System-Builder\/70RP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">system builder<\/a><\/strong> made use of the 65 watts of power on tap, and playing a selection of CDs instantly presented the system&#8217;s musical presence.<\/p>\n<p>It was easy to connect to the network, while streaming to the CD player with Bluetooth from my smartphone was even easier. A subwoofer output is also available for zone 1, along with a DAB\/FM tuner aerial, two digital optical Toslink ports, a single stereo RCA input, and both Ethernet and USB inputs. There\u2019s an analogue output, too, which is a nice touch.<\/p>\n<p>Powering the unit on and playing my first track revealed a far more grown-up, musical feel to the sound, bringing a warm tone through the speakers.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s fairly simple to stream music to this CD player via Bluetooth. That Marantz sound remains, although the bass does fall away a little, which isn\u2019t uncommon for Bluetooth streaming. It feels a bit flimsy, but for functionality, and the sheer size of the unit, it\u2019s a marvel that they have even managed to package a CD player into it.<\/p>\n<p>Streaming-wise, there&#8217;s the standard Bluetooth 5.3 for superior audio playback.<\/p>\n<p>Really, this player\/amplifier is a new generation of electronics. It&#8217;s priced significantly higher than the Eversolo Play, but when you compare the two, you can tell that the Uniti Star is a very different beast.<\/p>\n<p>Plugging the Q Acoustics Q 5020 feels like we are short-changing the Naim, but as this is a fair test, this is what we\u2019re going with, taking these speakers as far as they can musically.<\/p>\n<p>At the rear, it feels so much less cluttered with inputs than other systems, but don\u2019t be fooled into thinking it has less. The Uniti Star is a full-sized system compared to the rest, enabling it to be better set out in a far cleaner way, and it even includes an SD card slot which none of the other have.<\/p>\n<p>Ot the front, the CD player is neatly hidden on the left. The right-hand side is where you\u2019ll find that colour display with control features and a USB and headphone jack. On top, you&#8217;ll notice the volume dial, which is up to Rolls-Royce standards for tactile touch.<\/p>\n<p>Like the Eversolo, almost every conceivable streaming service is available, and it&#8217;s Roon-ready and includes Chromecast Audio. It accepts just about every musical format you can list, while also supporting Bluetooth 5.3 for CD-quality playback.<\/p>\n<p>Nothing really comes close to what the Naim has to offer, but that price is premium. A subwoofer output is also available for zone 1, along with a DAB\/FM tuner aerial, two digital optical Toslink ports, a single stereo RCA input, and both Ethernet and USB inputs. It actually feels a bit like the flagship Panasonic TV remote, which, if you know, you'll understand, as there is a link between the two brands.<\/p><p>On the system itself, you\u2019ll notice there is no CD drawer. Rather, you\u2019ll find a rather cool transparent swivel disc on top. It gives the SA-C600 a unique touch of class, and upon use, it feels as though you\u2019re interacting with vinyl.<\/p><p>At the rear, you\u2019ll find a dedicated phono stage, separate line-in, both digital and coaxial inputs, a USB-B PC input, and a subwoofer out. But HDMI is an option as it has ARC.<\/p><p>From the front, you can tell this isn\u2019t like any of the other electronics in this lineup, as you are presented with a large 5.5-inch colour display touch screen. There's a plethora of app icons like TIDAL, Qobuz, and Amazon Music, and to the side, there's a large dial that controls both power on\/off and volume.<\/p><p>The CD player section is located on the left-hand side of the unit. It feels a bit flimsy, but for functionality, and the sheer size of the unit, it\u2019s a marvel that they have even managed to package a CD player into it.<\/p><p>Streaming-wise, there's the standard Bluetooth 5.3 for superior audio playback.<\/p><p>Really, this player\/amplifier is a new generation of electronics. Streaming, archiving, playing DSD or even to DOP64... it can do a lot! Oh, and it doesn\u2019t sound too bad either.<\/p><hr \/><h4>5. It's priced significantly higher than the Eversolo Play, but when you compare the two, you can tell that the Uniti Star is a very different beast.<\/p><p>Plugging the Q Acoustics Q 5020 feels like we are short-changing the Naim, but as this is a fair test, this is what we\u2019re going with, taking these speakers as far as they can musically.<\/p><p>At the rear, it feels so much less cluttered with inputs than other systems, but don\u2019t be fooled into thinking it has less. The Uniti Star is a full-sized system compared to the rest, enabling it to be better set out in a far cleaner way, and it even includes an SD card slot which none of the other have.<\/p><p>Ot the front, the CD player is neatly hidden on the left. The right-hand side is where you\u2019ll find that colour display with control features and a USB and headphone jack. On top, you'll notice the volume dial, which is up to Rolls-Royce standards for tactile touch.<\/p><p>Like the Eversolo, almost every conceivable streaming service is available, and it's Roon-ready and includes Chromecast Audio. It accepts just about every musical format you can list, while also supporting Bluetooth 5.3 for CD-quality playback.<\/p><p>Nothing really comes close to what the Naim has to offer, but that price is premium.
