Key Features
The Denon RCD-M41 Amp Black with Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 AE Bookshelf Speakers delivers the ultimate HiFi experience and helps you get immersed in your music.
The Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition Bookshelf Speaker is the smaller of the two stand-mount models in the 600 Series. Despite its size, the 607 offers surprising resolution thanks to a host of proprietary technologies originally developed for B&W's flagship range, the 800 Series Diamond-the speakers installed at Abbey Road Studios in London for their high-fidelity and detail. B&W has been a household name for over half a century with a clear legacy of innovation. The 607 S2 is perfect for inconspicuous music setups or as the support in a surround sound home cinema system. With complementary technologies used throughout the series, experience a great sense of harmony and consistency no matter what you listen to.
The Denon DM41DAB Micro Hi-Fi System is a multi-award winning and highly versatile compact stereo amplifier, CD Player and DAB Radio with Bluetooth connectivity. Boasting 30-Watts of power per channel, the DM41 DAB can reproduce audio with a surprising amount of power for its small size. A wide range of connectivity options also helps this flexible system adapt to a variety of different use case scenarios. So whether you are looking to stream wirelessly from your phone, connect up to your TV or use the built-in CD Player, the Denon RCD-M41 is a compact one box solution that does it all.

2022 - Best standmount speaker £300-£500
"A happy anniversary for these upgraded B&W 607 S2 speakers"
"This is a cleaner, more insightful and overall more engaging performance from a pair of speakers that were already among the best you could buy for their outlay."
“It has a smooth tonal balance, an impressively extended bass (for a small standmount) and couth treble, plus deft rhythmic articulation and decent dynamics. Indeed, its strength is just where you’d want it to be, in the midband.”
Although the 607 S2 is the smallest speaker in the range, it benefits from a substantial legacy of British sound innovation. Bowers & Wilkins, now in operations for over half a century, have released the seventh generation of the classic 600 Series after tuning and adapting technologies originally derived for their flagship speakers, the 800 Series—the very same chosen for installation at Abbey Road Studios for their superior fidelity. The 600 Series uses a trickle-down version of this technology, making genuine musicality much more accessible.
The Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition Bookshelf Speakers have been optimised with superior crossover circuitry. The upgraded bypass capacitors featured in these speakers were originally developed for use in the higher-level B&W 700 Signature range. Fitted with a version of this aspirational technology, the 607 S2 is livelier and clearer, a significant step up from any previous generation and more capable of preserving the original audio signal. All this makes it the perfect support for even the biggest speakers in the 600 range.
The five-inch driver of the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 is housed in a cabinet roughly 16.5cm wide and 21cm deep. These discrete dimensions allow you to place these speakers in more locations than their larger twin, the 606 S2. Whether on stands, a credenza or—the more traditional option—a bookshelf, the minimalistic design of the cabinet not only performs well, but fits in aesthetically with assorted décors. The speaker is available in three finishes, including black, white and oak, all including detachable grilles embedded with the Bowers & Wilkins name.
The 25mm Decoupled Double Dome tweeter sits at the top of the speaker. Through thorough analysis, Bowers & Wilkins have implemented lightweight materials such as aluminium at key points of stress. This makes the dome more rigid whilst retaining its veracity and responsiveness, raising the tweeter’s overall bandwidth. The tweeter dome is also isolated from the cabinet by a gel-like ring, reducing the effect of reverberation from the driver.
Whilst the five-inch midrange/bass driver of the 607 S2 may look modest in comparison to the larger 606, it still uses the same Continuum cone design to deliver true Bowers & Wilkins performance. This technology was originally developed for use in the 800 Series and now replaces the signature yellow Kevlar cones for their capacity for greater accuracy. FST™ also insulate the driver from travelling vibrations, whilst improving responsiveness.
The final key innovation of the Bowers & Wilkins Anniversary Edition speakers is the eye-catching design of their rear-facing bass reflex, known as the Flowport™. The design uses the same principles as a common golf ball, with the dimpled pattern reducing turbulence as air is pushed from the cabinet—a simple addition to greatly improve performance. The speaker is also supplied with a double cylindrical foam bung, letting you tighten the bass response to your liking.
With Bluetooth built-in, the DM41 DAB now offers expanded wireless connectivity options. Continue enjoying your music without disturbing others by connecting to a pair of Bluetooth headphones. You can also connect the DM41 DAB with your Bluetooth-enabled phone, tablet or computer to stream music or radio wirelessly. With an on/off selector, Bluetooth can be disabled to avoid disturbing other sources such as CDs or radio.
The DM41 DAB’s small size makes it easily portable and versatile within your chosen space. It will fit neatly on a bookshelf, ideally accompanied by a pair of bookshelf speakers. Alternatively, rest your DM41 DAB on a sturdy console table where the unit’s four feet will stabilise it. Easily move your unit between a bedroom, lounge, or home office for music wherever you seek it.
To ensure that the DN41 DAB can perform at high power while retaining sound quality, Denon uses a triple noise reduction design (T.N.R.D.). This removes distortive noise from the input selector, electronic volume, and power amp to ensure that sound remains crisp and clear.
The Denon DM41 DAB makes use of the 'simple and straight' circuitry concept, meaning that the inner workings of this micro-Hi-Fi system are minimal and never over-complicated. The signals take a short route from A to B, so that what you hear is true to the original – without any unnecessary additives or quality loss.
This completely re-invigorated design from Denon brings both added performance and value to the DM41 DAB. This model features two 20 Watt amplifiers which will pair perfectly with bookshelf speakers for powerful sound that fills small- or medium-sized rooms.
The DM41 DAB is not only a great CD receiver and amplifier but has a great set of inputs located on the rear of the unit. Easily connect to a TV, gaming console, or another media player using the optical input to enhance the audio quality. You will also find a subwoofer pre-out for connecting an active subwoofer and enhancing bass delivery.
